I just turned 40 this year and I feel it is about time to have a more mature makeup collection. The past 5 years I have been focused on trying out everything. Drugstore and high-end. As I am sure many of you can relate to - I don't need anymore make-up - but that doesn't mean I am not going to buy anymore. Of course I am :)
Instead I will try not to be tempted by everything and only buy makeup that I really, really want.
I must admit that I gravitate towards high end beauty products - primarily because of the beautiful packaging. It feels and looks so damn nice. Great quality is of course expected as well. But price and quality doesn't always go hand in hand.
We shall see if I succeed.
My first big purchase this spring is makeup from Tom Ford. I have been looking at his products a million times, but the prices have held me back. But I finally caved.
The first thing I wanted was an eyeshadow palette. I had seen a lot of good reviews on the quality of the colors.
I chose 2.
The first one is "Cocoa Mirage". It contains three matte colors and one slightly shimmery. The colors are neutral. Because my skin is mature, matte colors suit me more.
That said, the second palette I purchased was "Nude Dip". It contains 4 satin/shimmery nude colors. I mostly use shimmery colors on the lid only. But seriously - you must admit that this palette looks to beautiful not to own!
You can find the palettes here at 63 GBP.

My second purchase was the Tom Ford Bronzer in "Terra". I have wanted this for so long and when I saw it in the new white spring packaging, I went for it.
They did also release the bronzer in a smaller version. You get half the amount of product but at a ridiculous high price. The bigger one is a much better deal.
"Terra" is a matte bronzer with a nice color that does not pull orange at all, perfect for my light complexion. It is easy to work with - it blends out nicely. You can find it here at 68 GBP
Is it worth the money? No! But it is beautiful and very luxurious. And I love it!
At christmas I bought three of the "Lips and Boys" lipsticks. If you don't know - the "Lips and Boys" collection are mini lipsticks. I love all three of them. They are soft and they feel really nice on the lips. And again - the packaging is to die for.
The three I bought were "Peter", "Cary" and "Rafael". Check them out here. The price is 26 GBP each.
I then decided to buy a full-size lipstick and went for "Nude Vanilla". It is a pinky nude color. You can find it here at 37 GBP.
I must admit that the lipsticks are ridiculously overpriced. They are nice and beautiful but the price is hard to justify.
I do not own any of the makeup brushes, but they are on my wish list :) Especially the two big ones.
I buy all my Tom Ford makeup at Selfridges.com. They ship internationally and very fast (2 days). But the delivery is expensive - 15 GBP :(
Hope you liked!
